This floral arrangement is done by filling a dish with water, then taping sticky tape or masking tape across the bowl in a grid pattern (as shown below). The flowers are simply placed into the holes created by the tape. Don't worry about having to cut your flower stems short though, shorter stems actually help the flower to keep fresh longer because the water doesn't have far to travel.
